UniFi U7 Pro vs UniFi U7 Pro Max

Same PoE+ port and 2.5 GbE uplink; the Pro Max adds a 4×4 5 GHz radio for busier spaces

Our verdict

Both are tri-band UniFi Wi-Fi 7 access points with 320 MHz channels on 6 GHz, a 2.5 GbE uplink and 802.3at PoE+ power, so they plug into the same switch ports. The U7 Pro Max upgrades the 5 GHz radio to 4×4 MU-MIMO (8 spatial streams versus 6), and Ubiquiti rates it for 160 m² and 500+ clients against 140 m² and 300+ for the U7 Pro. The extra capacity costs power: up to 25 W instead of 21 W, which adds up when several access points share one PoE budget.
